Any progress not happening after putting all my efforts—let’s leave? Nothing is gonna happen now. Wait, if something happens then what? These were the thoughts which were revolving all around my mind after writing the blogs for the first four days consistently. I am sure you all feel the same type of emotions when you start doing something to achieve your goal.
So, was it frustration? Surely, it was. I had sensed it at the end of the fourth day. But then I remembered the very first thought that came to my mind before writing. The thought I wrote on the first day—whatever happens is gonna happen, but I am gonna learn only. And I started to write on the fifth day and continued so on.
Frustration comes in the starting on the path to achieve your goal. In my case, frustration came early. But why? As I told you earlier, overthinking harms you. That was the reason why I got frustrated early. But you know what, the important part is how we tackle that situation. Being calm and patient is the most efficient way to tackle that.
So I did, I remembered the thought of the first day and continued to write. But I felt something on the tenth day that actually changed my perspective about progress. The thing which is known to all but can’t be understood early. I felt the improvement in my writing on the tenth day as compared to the first day. Yes, that’s small, but it actually matters to me. Growth is something which is invisible in the start but can be felt.
We all understand very late that progress was from the very first day only. Have you ever met a lazy ambitious person? Surely, there are many. But what if they took the first initiative towards their ambition? Isn’t it the progress? For you it may not be, but for the person it is. Writing daily is not an easy task, but calmness and little progress make it easy. Writing on day 1 and writing on day 12 consistently is what I see as a little progress that I had been feeling now.
A tall building requires a strong foundation. But it takes longer to complete that building. Floors are built one by one, which is a time-consuming progress. But when the building completes, we say it looks awesome, isn’t it? That’s how little progress works. It would surely help you to achieve your end goal. It will be a time-consuming, but it will give the best reward in the end.
Lastly, I would say that little progress builds a person’s good character. It teaches us about consistency, discipline, and calmness. Definitely, it would be slow at the start but give the best results in the future.
